Peculiarity of the Coulombic Criticality ?

چکیده
We study the Coulombic criticality of ionic fluids within the restricted primitive model (RPM).We indicate that for the RPM, analysed in terms of the field of charge density, the corresponding LandauGinzburg-Wilson effective Hamiltonian has a negative φ4-coefficient. In that case, solving the “exact” renormalization group equation in the local potential approximation, we show that close initial Hamiltonians may lead either to a first order transition or to an Ising-like critical behavior, the partition being formed by the tri-critical surface. This situation apparently illustrates the theoretical wavering encountered in the literature concerning the nature of the Coulombic criticality. Nevertheless, it is most probable that, in terms of the field considered, the model does not display any criticality. Monte carlo study of coulombic criticality in polyelectrolytes.
The role of charges in determining the water solubility of polyelectrolytes, a question of considerable relevance to biology, is currently unresolved. We use computer simulations to study the purely Coulombic phase separation of flexible polyelectrolytes with monovalent counterions in an athermal solvent. In agreement with recent theories we find that the critical temperature for this transitio...
متن کاملGinzburg Criterion for Coulombic Criticality.
To understand the range of close-to-classical critical behavior seen in various electrolytes, generalized Debye-Hückel theories (that yield density correlation functions) are applied to the restricted primitive model of equisized hard spheres. The results yield a Landau-Ginzburg free-energy functional for which the Ginzburg criterion can be explicitly evaluated. The predicted scale of crossover...
متن کاملDetermination of Criticality Indexes in the Remanufacturing Process: A GERT-based Simulation Approach
In this paper one of the important “end of life options” (remanufacturing) has been analysed. Among the related studies surveyed the various remanufacturing aspects, less attention has been paid to the stochastic process routing. In this regard, a remanufacturing process routing with stochastic activities is modelled as a GERT network. One of the efficient ways to analyse a remanufacturing proc...
متن کاملAn Algorithm to Obtain Possibly Critical Paths in Imprecise Project Networks
We consider criticality in project networks having imprecise activity duration times. It is well known that finding all possibly critical paths of an imprecise project network is an NP-hard problem. Here, based on a method for finding critical paths of crisp networks by using only the forward recursion of critical path method, for the first time an algorithm is proposed which can find all pos...
متن کاملCrossover Scales at the Critical Points of Fluids with Electrostatic Interactions
Criticality in a fluid of dielectric constant D that exhibits Ising-type behavior is studied as additional electrostatic (i.e., ionic) interactions are turned on. An exploratory perturbative calculation is performed for small ionicity as measured by the ratio of the electrostatic energy e/D a (of two univalent charges, ±e, separated by the atomic/ionic diameter a) to kB T 0 c which represents t...
